Hello there, fellow RPers.
Admin would like to announce the start of Quidditch season!
I'll post the rules now, so everybody can get the chance to read them, clarify any doubts, and also to make room for suggestions.
HOW IT WORKS
- The match will depend on both the players and chance, through random number generators that Admin will roll.
- Each player writes a short post (maximum of two/three paragraphs) on their moves on the field, responding to the last mod's post. Please, keep it in mind that we need this game to be exciting, fast, and also dynamic.
FOR THE TEAM
- This game consists of actions, events, and reactions, basically.
- There are seven main actions in this game, four of which are limited to the respective positions in the team: Flying around, passing the balls, throwing a bludger, shooting for the goal, blocking the goal, and reaching for the snitch.
Example; “Søren aims a bludger at Ivan”, “Francis tosses a quaffle at the goal.”, or "Alfred sees the snitch and dives for it."
- The events are given by the mods, after they roll how successful the actions were. The results will be described in single sentences, so the players can react to them.
Example; “Søren’s bludger hits Ivan.”, “Francis’ quaffle is dodged by Lili.”, or "The snitch escaped."
- After the mod post, the players should write a single post about their reactions to the events, followed by actions.
Example; “Ivan falls from his broom”, “Lili hands the ball to Vash.”, or "Alfred keeps looking."
- The game will follow like this until its end, aka, until the Seeker is successful on grabbing the Snitch.
- If the referee calls out for foul game, the posting is to be interrupted immediately, as the game is now frozen. The mods will make a new post on how to proceed.
FOR THE OTHERS
- The referee: feel free to follow the game in character, and, of course, call Foul gaming at any time he sees fit (as in, an obvious violation of the Quidditch rules. You don't need to be too strict though, knowing only the basic and common-sense rules will do just fine.). Once the referee does call foul, the game is frozen, and people are not allowed to post until the mod post is done.
- The commentator: post freely with what's on your mind. That is, action in the field, fouls, goals, and whatever else might catch your interest in game.
- The spectators: also have their chance in this as well. Someone can only post their cheering every five posts from the quidditch game itself. Every spectator needs to wait five quidditch posts to post again (Quidditch related posts can be a player, the referee or just the mods.).
And again, I remind you, this is a trial. The very first attempt of something I've never tried before, so it might not work. Suggestions of improvements are welcome.
