Aches and Pains: Comes with the territory.
Being poked fun at: A lot like rudeness, but don’t you dare make fun of his love of cute things.
Personality: Having lived as long as he has, Yao has gained a tolerance for most things. He's a bit uptight and likes to stick to the rules, but isn't really unreasonable about bending them when need be either. His major pet peeve is etiquette, whether it be from his age or his origins, Yao holds good manners above most all else. Late to his class? Lose your house some points. Rude patient? Rougher treatment. He also has an intolerance for intolerance.
Not to say he's a total old fart. Yao is very fond of festivities and sporting events. He almost always overdoes it with decorations for the holidays, going over the top for Christmas.
Some of his favorite pastimes include traveling, collecting cute things (his home back in China has a storage room full of crap), tea in all its varieties, and relaxing.
Pet?: A Phoenix named Yin. However, he has a habit of calling it Confucius.
Background:
Born in China centuries before the madness of pure blood, half bloods and muggleborns, Yao attended a school of eastern magic in his youth. After graduating, he wandered Asia and parts of eastern Europe learning all that he could. Eventually he somehow made his way around the entire known world and then some. It was on this journey he discovered the secret to true immortality, although he has never shared the answer with another living soul. With endless years before him he used his time to discover and learn Western magic, and gain the abilities of an animagus. With his knowledge of both Eastern and Western magics he eventually created his own flair and mix of the two. He's come to settle at Hogwarts as one of their fulltime teachers for the past 50 years, but had taken a 5 year break until just recently returning saying something about family.
Yao has never cared what ones bloodlines are and finds it of little importance when it comes to a wizard's or witch's true potential.
Relations with other characters:
Slytherins: He's not their head of house, but he seems to deal with them more than he wants to.
Whole Student body: He's the Nurse so he sees a little of everyone.
Teachers:coming soon.....
Taiwan: Grandbaby. <3 Yao is extremely proud of her and her undying enthusiasm, even if she gets a bit pesky and in the end he just really wants her to shut up. (<3) Sometimes he knows he's spoiled her a bit too much, but most of the time, that's just fine.
Sample:
Waking up to the frantic rapping on his personal quarter's door never boded well. Creaking out of bed with a soft groan, he padded over to the door and cracked it open. "What is it-aru?"
Lantern light pooled in through the opening forcing his tired eyes to squint, and illuminated the frustrated face of the Head of House. "Some of our students decided having a test of courage at the lake tonight. The giant Squid decided to assist them. Now three broken ribs, a deeply bruised arm and some bruised pride later....we need your help, Professor Yao." His tone was completely unamused. Neither one of them wanted to be up this late.
With a heavy sigh, Yao threw on a robe and grabbed his wand just in case he needed it. "Why can't they just sleep at night-aru? Or study?"
"Trust me." the Head responded dryly.
He had to nearly beat one of the students into submission to get them still enough to heal, but in the end both were fixed up without any complications other then some detention.
The rest
Anything else you'd like to add: Nihao. If the "Aru"s annoys anyone, let me know I can cut it, but I figured it's China, he "Aru"s.
