Application for "Hungary"
The Basics:
Nation: Hungary
Name of Character: Elizaveta Héderváry
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Country of origin: Hungary
Blood status: Muggleborn
School:
House:Gryffindor
Year: 3rd Year and doing just above average. Took some time off between the end of her seventh year and starting university to study the magical world and figure out what exactly she wanted to do in it.
Job Prospective: Aiming to be an Auror with the occasional flight of fancy about being a dragon keeper or professional Qudditch player.
Subjects: Potions, Defense against the Dark Arts, Divination, Transfiguration, Charms, Herbology, and History of Magic
Quidditch?:Yes, Beater.
Appearance:
Eyes: Forest green
Hair: Sandy brown
Other features: Elizaveta is rarely seen without her flower hairclips. She knows that at her age, she's probably outgrowing them, but she vows she'll still be wearing them when she's old and gray claiming "they've become a part of her". Although full of feminine charm (which she often doesn't think about much), she has some very well-toned muscles, enough to rival some of her fellow male students. When not in her wizard robes, she's generally found in more masculine clothing as she finds them easier to function in. She can be coaxed into dresses and more girly clothes if the situation calls, and even "just because" rarely.
Character Background:
Likes: (3 minimum)
Having a good time: Although sometimes playing a bit hard to get, she's willing to do most anything fun, and often mischievous. While she generally tries to be the bigger person, she can (and will) slip into fun at the expense of others, but never anything too vicious.
Girl Time: While she doesn't indulge in it often, when able to have just "girl time" it is like heaven.
Animals: Regular and magical alike. She has an extreme soft spot for horses.
Sweets: Pastries, Chocolates, all of 'em.
A good fight/brawl/duel: Rarely one to pass up a challenge, Elizaveta thoroughly enjoys a good roughhousing. Always has.
Being treated the like most important girl in the world: But then again what kind of girl doesn't? SHE WILL NEVER ADMIT TO THIS.
Her uh, indulgences: It’s better if you don’t ask…Just know she carries a camera with her everywhere she goes.
Dislikes: (3 minimum)
Bullies: aka Assholes. While she is definitely not expecting the grade school mentality or actions of bullies in University, anyone crossing that line in her presence can expect an iron pan or worse in the face.
The Dark: Does her best not to let it show, but she's always had a fear of the dark, and what could be out there beyond her vision. Very defensive about this fear.
High heels: Boots are MUCH more practical.
Romania: Let’s just say they don’t get along
Personality: One who both works hard and plays hard, Elizaveta has always worked well flying solo or with others. She has never been one to pick on the weak, and takes pride in her status as a muggleborn, being one of the few willing and able to fully accept both worlds.
More than willing to speak her mind, Elizaveta is more than stubborn, open, and has the gift of generally not holding grudges. She feels strongly about everyone starting with a blank slate, as well as the fact that people are able change, and does her best to not judge books by their covers. It is a rare case when Liz finds someone to be a lost cause.
Her hobbies include studying the magic world, as she loves learning new things about it as often as possible, dueling, whether with wand, frying pan or a more traditional/muggle weapon, loving on her cat, and spending time with others.
Pet?: Yes, Henyélő (Lazy) A ragdoll that lives up to it's name.
Background:
Elizaveta was raised by her single, muggle father. A large animal veterinarian by trade, she gained her love of animals from going with him on his check-ups and visits. He's not so sure about his daughter's taste in clothing, but has always been supportive of her in all that she does. While adjusting to the magical world was far from easy, Elizaveta had the full support of her father, plus ten times more excitement for the stories and happening she had every time she returned from school. She still receives the same enthusiasm anytime they talk.
Relations with other characters:
Gets along well with most everyone. I'm suspecting some kind of relationships with Austria, and Prussia some time in the future at the very least but time will tell.
Sample:
She supposed it only made sense that most of her fellow students in muggle studies would come to her with questions. While she was not in the class, she was considered an "expert" on the subject, something she took no offense to. Elizaveta couldn't begin to describe how amusing it was to see her fellow witches and wizards hypothesize and guess at the "what", "why" and "how" of muggle technology.
"Sooo, you enter a magic code, and after a certain number of rings, you reach the desired person and speak with them?" One of her upperclassmen speculated while twirling Elizaveta's cell phone in her hands over and over, occasionally pressing a random button.
Trying not to full out grin, but unable to contain a smile, Elizaveta took the phone back from the girl, went into her contacts, and did her best to explain.
"Well, kind of. You see, the names listed here have a device similar to mine, and if I press this button here," she fingered the green lit call key, "I'll be able to call them. They don't always pick up though so I may have to leave a message."
"How do you know they get the message?" They looked at each other, concern on the upperclassmen's face.
"You don't I guess, but you can always call again."
She got a thoughtful "huh" in response. The upperclassmen opened her mouth as if to ask another question when they both heard the snickering and jibes across the commons.
"Muggles and their phone cells."
"Why does she even have that thing here? It's not she has anyone to talk to with it."
"Maybe just to show off her mudblood background, you know, because she's so proud."
A fit of snickers and giggles followed. Elizaveta felt the upperclassmen stiffen, and placed a calm hand on the girls shoulder. She shook her head and shrugged it off; it's not like it was something she hadn't heard before.
She was visiting in Ravenclaw, a house she wouldn't expect this kind of behavior from, but then again it takes all kinds she mused. She flipped her phone open snapping through the menus quickly. She saw her friend watch her, growing more confused with each click, until pulling back a little surprised, when the small device began to blast with sound. The whole commons grew quite as Poker Face rasped out of her phone in low quality. Looking up at the girls who'd been joking her she smirked at the confused and disgusted looks on their faces. Yeah, she didn't like the song either, but she couldn't deny it was catchy. To muggles.
With the press of another key she shut it off and grinned at the girls, "It plays bad muggle music too!" Standing, she patted her friend's knee. "I'm gonna go, it's getting late. Besides I need to call my Dad with my 'Phone Cell'. I can get him instantly with this, don't have to wait for an owl." With a wave of her hand she headed out. She was near the exit when she heard someone call at her.
"Gaga? Really Liz? I though you had better taste than that!"
She couldn't help but laugh, "It's the first thing that came to mind! I'm sorry!"
She heard a disgusted "ugh" in response as she left. Chuckling again, she skipped back to Gryffindor tower, humming that damned song.
