It wasn't often that he got to come out on the grounds and enjoy the scenery of Hogwarts. Oh sure, he was outside a lot and most of the time he even enjoyed it, but being able to stop and stare at the things that caught his eye? Not so much really. Antonio rarely went out anywhere by himself. If he wasn't joined at the hip with his partners in crime, he was usually accompanied by whichever student he happened to be chatting up at the time. On rare occasions he even took outings with professors. So of course, being the considerate man he was, Antonio rarely made his companions wait for him more than a few seconds. It wouldn't do to have them get bored and wander off or, in the case of his favorite little hot headed Italian, get mad at him and curse his tomatoes to taste like carrots for a week.
He tossed a few sticks to the giant squid, smiling at the way it shredded them, and then crouched down to examine a little red patch of flowers that were vaguely shaped like a lopsided smiley face. Turning to point it out, he sighed. That's right, he always had friends with him because it was no fun to discover cute things if you couldn't share them with someone you liked. Having time to yourself was nice, but Antonio was finding the silence to be more and more lonely as he got up and began to walk again.

If there was one simple pleasure that Lovino Vargas loved, it was napping/taking a seista. Doing it outside was an added bonus. It'd been a nice day and a surprisingly quiet one for the Italian, so he took the time to get his school work done then head out to enjoy the weather. The yard of Hogwarts was huge and expansive, but only had a handful of good shady trees, the best places to nap under while outside, since most of the trees were over by the forbidden forest and there was no fucking way that he was napping anywhere near that hellhole. Since he hadn't wanted to be somewhere just in the middle of the field to rest, he'd headed straight to the edge by the lake. Although the giant squid living inside it both fascinated and (mostly) terrified the Italian, he found a tree far enough away from the shore that he felt comfortable and had settled into a nice nap.
While he had been sleeping soundly tucked away in the roots and leaves of an old willow tree, the movement of the water pulled Lovino out of his dreaming. Groggy and grumpy at first, he all but screeched in terror when he saw large tentacles breaking the lake's black and glassy surface. In hishalf awake terrified state, the Hufflepuff thought the Squid was coming for him and scrambled up, snatching his bag and making to flee from the lake. Clumsily he tripped and nearly faceplanted right back into the earth, but managed to fall a bit gracelessly onto his side.
More awake, Lovino observed the squid and finally noticed that, no, it did not magically spot him and decide today was the day it hungered for human flesh. No, the giant squid was lazily going for sticks, big and small that had been tossed into his watery home. Pushing himself up into a proper sitting position the Italian dusted himself off, embarrassed by his actions but thankful no one saw them.
...No one saw that right?
Quickly looking around, Lovino realized there had to be a source of those sticks being that far into the water. Was some asshole playing a prank on him? Hackles rising he noticed a pair of feet moving toward the willow he'd been resting under. Oh that sonuvabitch. Rising, and temper at the ready Lovino stomped through the wispy branches and ....stopped... as it was Antonio coming his way. "W-What're you doing out here?" He sputtered out.

Antonio paused at the sound of someone scrambling around in the grass. He glanced around and blinked as the drooping braches of the willow by the lake swished against the wind then fluttered to a stop as a hand flopped onto the ground. Worried, he shuffled over to the willow. What if they were hurt? What if this person was being attacked by something?! Dios, what if they needed his help to fight off a vicious beast that’d wandered out of the forbidden forest?!?
Bracing himself to face any number of horrors, Antonio sped up his walking. There weren’t any horrified screams and the hand had vanished back into the confines of the willow branches, so hopefully whatever it was had run off. He paused, then hurried even faster as another thought hit him. What if it had eaten the poor person?
A look of utter relief spread over his face as whoever it was walked out of the willow branches, face grumpy and definitely not chewed on. When he registered it as Lovino he brightened considerably. “Lovinito! What do you mean what am I doing, what were doing? Were you attacked? You have leaves in your hair! Your shirt is mussed!” Reaching out, Antonio tried to straighten it, smudging a bit more dirt into the material. “Dios, it must have been some fight! I saw you hit the ground, what attacked you? Should I curse it? Was it another student?”
