As a Metamorphmagus, he has changed his appearance to get out of trouble. In fact, he was born with blonde hair and blue eyes like his bruder, but prefers his current albino appearance. He is also always wearing an iron cross, at least under his uniform. Oh, and there's a yellow bird that likes to rest in his hair.

Personality:
Gilbert is loud, obnoxious, rebellious, and does not do well with authority, (Especially his father). He is constantly pulling pranks, but never tries to hurt anyone, unless it's for revenge, or it's Roderich. The man will pull stunts on his teachers, mainly in the being of the year. If he enjoys the class and/or the teacher, he'll normally stop, and sometimes has a bit of a friendship with some of the more easy going teachers. He is a good strategist and can plot some well planned schemes. Despite this, he can make stupid decisions that wrecks some of his plans. He also will go into rants about how "awesome" he is, either when he is extra confident, or he's trying to talk himself out of a runt. He is quite easy going, until someone seriously messes with the people he cares about, (especially Ludwig). After that, in Gilbert's mind, it is all out WAR, and he doesn't know mercy. He won't go all out like that for a stranger, but seeing someone cruelly treat another does not go down well in his book., and will stop it if he can. Gilbert also has an affinity with birds, especially chicks or ravens. Despite his normally rebellious and laid back personality, he can be almost as serious and strict as his brother, but this doesn't occur often. His best classes are transfiguration and defense, but doesn't do nearly as well in herbology or potions.
Pet?: Yes, a barn owl named Fritz, which Gilbert likes to use to send letter far distances, (aka home) and Gilbird, a small yellow bird that likes to sit in his hair, and Gilbert sometimes sends him to deliver notes around campus.
Background:
Gilbert is the firstborn son of a German Ministry of Magic Official. He was born into an old, renowned, and strict family. Despite this, Gilbert has always been rebellious, and has always found ways to get away with his pranks and stunts. One thing that gives him an advantage in this is his status as a Metamorphmagus.
When Gilbert was roughly two (about the same time Ludwig was born), they discovered his ability. His mother left him alone for a second, and when she returned, Gilbert had managed to turn his hair blue and his eyes purple! He continued to change them through all colors imaginable, before finally settling on his white and crimson combo. No matter what anyone did, no one could convince him to return it to the original blonde and blue.
Due to his family's disdain for muggles and "impure wizards", Gilbert was home-schooled until continuing on to Zauberschule, (I's so good at names...) the German wizarding school. He was quite social, preferring to be outside with friends instead of reading or studying, leading him almost ignore his schoolwork. He spent most of his time with a "gang" he founded, named the Tectonic Knights. Despite this, he was quite clever and could have done quite well if he focused on school instead of mischief. Gilbert managed to weasel out of trouble in most cases using his Metamorphmagus abilities. He couldn't be responsible if no one saw "him" there. Unfortunately, he flunked his first year. After that he decided he was too "awesome" to fail, and ended up doing quite well the second time around, and managed to graduate with decent marks. He didn't, however, get high enough scores to pursue his dream of being an Auror though. He took a year off studies and work to see the world, before coming to Hogwarts to try and get the NEWTs he needed to pursue his dream. Due to his late entry, he ended up coming in the same year as his younger brother.

Gilbert smirked, confident in his current mischief. While the music room was still empty, he quickly hid dung bombs on the bottom of Roderich's seat. Pulling out an Ebony wand, he performed a quick charm to complete the little surprise, "Statuto pedicas." The German man smiled to himself, satisfied with his handiwork.
"This'll be a good one, richtig Gilbird?" Gilbert asked the small bird that was nestled in his hair, "If only I could see the look on the Austrian loser's face when it goes off!" he covered his laugh, so it wouldn't be loud enough to alert anyone of his presence. His crimson eyes found their way to the clock, where the albino finally noticed the time. "Verdammt!" Gilbert exclaimed, shoving his wand back into his bag as he sped off, out the door and down the hall, a yellow bird trailing him. He was going to be late for his first Herbology class of the year.
