Other features: The red bows in her hair to hold her ponytails. Skin colour is a dark tan, which makes her stand out among the other females. You will always see Michelle smiling, as if little to nothing bothers her. When not in uniform, she is often seen in a long, sky-blue dress. Her accent is a bit country-like, and she speaks a unique type of french, but is a mixture of French and English.
Character Background:
Likes:
-Dresses: Michelle is never seen in pants or shorts, always dresses, preferably the long, puffed-typed ones. In honesty, if she didn't have to wear a uniform, dresses would be all of what she would wear, everyday.
-Islands: Being from one, Michelle is always captivated by oceans, beaches, beautiful type places, especially during sunsets.
-Bird-Watching: Birds always fascinated her, so, when given time to herself, she would find a quiet place to explore them.
-Making/Getting Gifts: Upon making a new, close friend, Michelle will validate that buy either buying or making a gift to show her appreciation. Most times, she wouldn't expect nor ask for things in return, its an automatic thing for her to do when she makes a bond with friends.
-Clear, Sunny Weathers: Because Seychelles Islands never seem to attract any rain or storms, this makes her love the sunny weather more. She believes that "Fun in the Sun" is the best motto, and will take it all in. Beautiful night sceneries fascinate her as well, though she never seems to voice why.
-Fishes & Fishing: Fishing was always a favorite hobby of hers, yet she never did it to eat the fish afterwards, one she actually kept for a very long time. Currently, she is trying to see if she can bring it with her.
Dislikes:
-Cooking: Michelle cannot cook, this she knows, the thing that bothers her most on this is someone who already knows this taunts her about it, she is currently learning how to cook, though.
-Bullies/"Tough Guys": Being a witness to this type of action, Michelle hates it. Still regretting the last time she didn't stand up for someone being bullied, she will indeed take up for the victim to bandage the mistake of not doing so before.
-Rudeness/Impolite Actions: Michelle picked up the "southern hospitality" type mentality along the lines, and notices that people do not seem to speak to their elders, women, or children correctly. It bothers her highly, and she will speak up on it.
-Being Taken Advantage Of/For Granted: Because Michelle is so nice and kind-hearted, she is subject to become someone's stepping stool. Before, she didn't know the how to tell the signs of being used or "stepped on", but becoming older and wiser, she knew to stop it before it started, what better way than to avoid it?
-Manipulators/Cheaters/Liars: This is classified under the same catagory because she sees them all as the same thing, and hates it at the same level. She feels there is no excuse for them, and having being older now, she can sense it on sight.
Personality:
Described as a country girl with a huge heart, yet a bit sloppy, Michelle is always the one to put her friends before herself, possibly a bit too clingy to them at times in fear that she might screw something up and lose them faster than befriending them. Sometimes, she can be a bit bashful and shy, but when one takes that as a sign of weakness and attemps to use that as an opening, she begins to open up more. Most times, Michelle would be the "voice of reason", and try her hardest to get people to listen to her perspective on a problem. One thing she cannot stand is impoliteness and bullying, it makes her skin crawl, and she will voice it quickly. She hopes by the end of the school year that she can perfect her cooking, mostly to prove to herself and others that she can, mostly using the defense that she "seen and tasted worse, to be honest".
Around other people, she goes under the "treat them how you want to be treated" notion, and it works most times, though she still worries of meeting someone who will try to test her tolerance level. At first though, she can be a bit quiet and reserved because of the adjustment to another region, but after a while she begins to talk more to overcome the fear.
Pet?:
Yes. Michelle has a one and a half year old female Ivory cat named Poupée-Victoria, also known as "Doll Victoria" in French. She was unsure as to whether to name her just Poupee or Victoria, so the name became hypenated, it is said that since Victoria is the capitol of Seychelles, this is why the name was extended to the cat's original name.
Background:
Growing up, Michelle learned the art of multi-language, this being while she was home-schooled by her father, reason being because of her deathly fear of being bullied as well as becoming severely home-sick. The Seychelles Islands were within a deep blend of European, Creole, Asian, French, and African languages. Picking up on this, Michelle began to study them, becoming successful at speaking Creole, French and English the most. Father being French and mother unknown, which she feels may be either African or British, this gave Michelle hope that she could be able to meet someone who is also multilingual--but then figured that the only way she could meet anyone was to leave her comfort zone of the Islands. When she heard of the opening of Hogwarts from her father, it gave her chills, yet piqued her interest at the same time, eventually biting the bullet and killing her nervousness to attend after making him promise that she could still be in contact with home.
Upon enrolling, Michelle felt that her first thing on the list was to make new friends, it seemed to be vital at this point. Contact with her father was very limited; most times she wished she could talk to both himself and her estranged mother at once, which makes her mood shift at certain times from happiness to disappointment. Leaving the Islands with not much money in stock, she plans to work within the University or at a neighboring area to compensate for her stay here in England, and at the same time, she could gather more information and answers on and from her mother, the missing piece of the family puzzle.
Relations with other characters:
Ravenclaw students: As of right now, Michelle isn't very familiar with them all, but plans to within the near future.
Sample:
As it slowly transitioned to nightfall, the crescent moon which illuminated so sweetly beyond the window sent a small gleam of light inside. Tucked comfortablly under the various comforters and sheets the bed had to offer, the small, curvy frame lied still, small snores slipping through the small openings of its lips. Light pink notebook and feather pen finally making it's decision to fall on the floor after minutes of residing at the end of the bedside. It wasn't until the sound of that notebook hitting the bottom-right leg of the in-table that the body began to stir under the covers, soon shooting upwards with wide, sienna-coloured hues.
"H-Huh?!"
That deep-tanned maiden, she went by the name Michelle Mancham. Sounded just like a Seychelles resident, does it not? That's exactly what it was. Michelle came fresh out of Seychelles Islands, and there were so many days she wanted to go back to it. But, of course, there was a mission or two to be fulfilled here, and of course she is not one to walk out of a goal. Hues glancing at the notebook that became poised by the wooden leg of the in-table, Michelle reached over to pick it up, along with the feather pen that laid horizontally a few inches away from the fallen notebook.
Holding the two in her hands, the female exhaled, opening the notebook to the first page, "Must have fallen asleep..." Voice cracking, struggling to sound more full whilst speaking. She could feel the crust in her eyes when she blinked, so with a slight rub she made sure to wipe it away before it became an even bigger bother. Now engulfed in silence, Michelle stared at the content, the inside of the notebook filled with various information she written earlier; eyes as still as a porcelain doll's. This was not the time to rest, studying was imminent, she could hit herself for having fell asleep the first time, but yet she could not blame herself for being up all day.
'Hold out for just a little bit longer, we're going to make it..' Said her conscience, coaching her in a mental sense, making sure the Seychellois kept her focus up. Eyes still frozen on the page, Michelle's browned hues slid alongside the cursive handwriting, body pressed against the chestnut-toned headboard of her bed, sky-blue cell-phone turned on it's face whilst connected to its charger, 'No distractions.' This was said by, again, her conscience, knowing Michelle would try to procrastinate.
So, with a small hum, Michelle spoke back, despite that it was just herself in the room, physically. "Even if it takes the whole night...I'll be prepared for this test...I will pass, and dad will be proud."
