Application for Prussia
The Basics:

Name of Character: Gilbert Beilschmidt
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Country of origin: Federal Republic of Germany
Blood status: Pure Blood
School:
House: Ravenclaw
Year: 4
Job Prospective: Dragon Keeper
Subjects: Defense Against the Dark Arts, Care of Magical Creatures, Transfiguration, Ancient Studies and Charms
Quidditch?: Yes, as chaser or beater if positions are available
Appearance:
Eyes: Crimson
Hair: Silver
Other features: Gilbert is never seen without his German cross around his neck. It is precious to him. (Would his 5 meters count here too? XD).
Character Background:
Likes: Pancakes, beer & wurst, BTT/BFT (Bad Touch Trio/Bad Friend Trio) time, annoying a certain piano player and frying pan-wielder, and cute things.
Dislikes: Being alone/left out, people telling him what to do, and un-awesome things (like frying pans...).
Personality: Constantly running his mouth, Gilbert is rarely one to remain silent for long. He often rants on about how completely awesome he is no matter if anyone is actually paying him any attention at the time. He likes to cause mischief and tends to be quite the daredevil (especially if he wants to impress someone). He also likes being independent and doing things his way, because his ideas always get the approval of Awesome in his opinion.
In those rare moments that Gil is quiet though, his ego actually deflates. When moping or silent, is either thinking really hard about something that has suddenly popped into his head, or he is feeling down. He gets jealous of the relationships of others easier than he would like, and tends to wallow in self-pity to himself or to Gilbird when no one else is around. When he decides to recover from his OOC-ness, he sets his mind to becoming even more awesome than before in order to get himself pumped up again.
Pet?: Yes, his pet chick Gilbird.
Background: Gilbert comes from a rich family of purebloods, and for that reason he tends to have a superiority complex. His parents had a hard time with him because of his recklessness with his magical abilities and his blatant disregard toward their standards of behaviour for the son of a wealthy family. They thought that the best thing for their son was to enroll him at Hogwarts, to better channel his skills and to mold his personality into something more humble. The different blood statuses present at the school promised to bring their son down to earth.
Gilbert himself, however, only went along with it for the prospect of possibly becoming a dragon keeper at the end of his years there. At first he was pretty unimpressed/bored with Hogwarts and the other students, until gradually he warmed up to the place and his classmates. He's still got lots of growing up to do, but he has improved a lot since his first year at Hogwarts.
Relations with other characters:
Sample:
"Tch, this place looks sooooo un-awesome," the silver-haired teen stated coldly as he eyed the vast grounds spread out in front of him. The castle itself was imposing, but looked fairly old and boring in his opinion. Even the flocks of owls swooping between the tallest towers of the school failed to catch his attention all that much.
"Not as awesome as chicks by far, right Gilbird?" he mumbled to his small, feathery companion. His heart sank slightly when he heard no reply; he had forgotten that his little friend had been taken to the castle before him along with the rest of his luggage. He sighed dejectedly and slowed his stride slightly as the enormity of his situation hit him.
Walking among the other prospective students towards that large set of double doors of Hogwarts, Gilbert couldn't help but feel out of place and ultimately alone, no matter how hard he tried. He didn't recognize anyone, and the excited conversations taking place around him were really starting to make him see how foreign this place, and these concepts of camaraderie were to him.
Realizing he was about to enter a serious period of angst, the crimson-eyed teen shook his head vigorously to clear his mind and set his eyes in a determined fashion. He would not cave to despair, and he would face this school, this challenge with all of the awesomeness he could muster up. Which was A LOT. Snickering cockily, Gilbert picked up his pace and marched confidently through the crowds of students as fast as he could towards the double doors, half to prove himself, and half in order to see Gilbird again. His bold-legged stride most likely looked ridiculous to others, but Gilbert really could have cared less.
