Likes:
Money; as a Slytherin, he is ambitious and has a high sense of self-preservation, and money symbolizes security and power, everything that he wants that can be bought.
Tulips; Lars has always loved gardening, and tulips are his favorite flowers not only because he's Dutch, but because the flower is different from the others, with a saturated, intense petal color that no other plant has.
His Bunny, Nijntje, is a small holland lop that has been with him for a long time. He suspects him to be a magical animal, for he's really old for a bunny.
His pipe; Lars is a smoker, and gives preference to pipes over cigrettes for the taste, flavor and aroma of the pipe tobacco.
His scarf was a gift from his grandmother when he showed the first signs of his magic.
Dislikes:
Loud people; or people who talk too much. He's an introspective person, but noises can easily disturb his concentration.
Dirty; Lars is a really neat guy, and he likes to live on a clean and orderly enviroment.
Tied things; he tends to be really practical and likes practical things without many knots.
Messy gardens and kitchen are hell for him. While he likes neat enviroments, he's particularly meticulous with kitchen and garden, for the first is the place where the food that goes into him is, the second because he can't stand seeing plants treated so lowly.
Personality:Lars is a serious young man who possesses many traits valued by the Slytherin house: He's ambitious, shrewd, resourceful, determined and cunning. He also tends to think twice before acting, so as to weigh all possible outcomes before deciding exactly what should be done. These traits has given him the fame of being a strong strategist. Despite his serious and seemingly scary facade, he's sweet at heart: he loves small bunnies, gardening and sometimes even reads romantic poems. He also has a certain disregard for the rules, which is shown by the way he smokes even though it is forbidden.
Pet?: Yes, a little Holland lop bunny called Nijntje
Background: Lars is the son of a muggle Dutch man from Maastricht and a pure blood wizard from Amsterdam. His father left him when he was a newborn, and little he knows about him, except from the fact that he's a muggle, and even litter he cares for a man that didn't care for him or his mother.
Hofstee is the surname of his mother, a wizard from a pure blood family, although that status is debatable since there has been muggles on the ancestry line of the family. Because of that, and the fact that his father was a muggle, his family thought he had no magic in him until he was five, when he had his first display of magic, which resulted on a little accident where he got his scar, but he was also gifted with his scarf from his grandmother.
He had a rather normal childhood, with a loving mother and grandparents. He knows of some German cousins he might have, although he's never had any contact with them.
Relations with other characters: He doesn't know any of the other characters yet. He doesn't even know he's got a sister!
Sample:
The Dutch man lied lazily on his bed. His spiky hair was splayed on the pillow on awkward angles from the position he chose to lie down to read his book. On his belly, his little pet bunny rested like on a nest, tiny eyes closed as the idle fingers of his owner caressed the soft fur behind his ear.
The noise of Lars flipping a page seemed to awake the little animal from his slumber, and Nijntje fixed his little eyes on the book. Lars flipped another page. And then another. And, as if knowing he was being observed, lowered the book to look at the bunny. For a moment, he had the impression the rabbit's eyes followed the volume on his hand.
Lars looked down to the book as well. "The Black Tulip". A French Romance. He looked back to the bunny, whose eyes seemed to be looking at him with with a disbelieving expression.
"Don't judge me, okay."
